There are a lot of organizations that are in need of new members that is why they are open for try outs. However, you have to pick someone on which you have the forte and at the same time, passion. You can not of course barge in to a debate society if you have a fright in defending your case over the opposition.
The word musical may have come from the root word music which means the art of ordering tones or sounds in succession, in combination, or in temporal relationships to produce a composition having unity and continuity. But it is not only limited to the music itself. The members have to know dancing and acting too.
Some people find abundance of enjoyment when their favorite actors act on stage than acting on movies. Mainly because the emotions are more felt when it is watched from the theater seats. Though those are only fake tears and all, they pretty much touch the viewers in the raw. The actions are live and do not have a lot of cuts and that is what keeps it entertaining.

And it only happens at the end of the show, after the curtain calls.
