Clubs and similar social groups or organizations are many, most with good service programs that give charity and other services to those in need, and have relevant fraternal events. A lot of these operate internationally and can have any number of chapters in good locations around the country and the globe. These are some of the best outfits with high standards for maintaining good lives for its members and people who benefit from their programs.

Lions Clubs International is one such organization and it is well recognized and respected wherever individuals and chapters are. Multiple Districts 19 Lions is the relevant district for the states and provinces of Washington, Idaho and British Columbia. This is the type of district that covers several states and have more chapters than the average district.

This particular Lions unit is also categorized into distinct operational groups per region, to provide integrity and better coordination especially in action programs. People can know about this particular district online and through HQs and chapters. Those who want to become a Lion should take it upon themselves to learn what they can about the organization.

For beginners, the primary requirement is having the spirit of volunteerism. This has given members, either working as individuals or groups, good answers to whatever community challenges there are that need addressing all over the globe. The club was founded in Chicago, Illinois on June 7, 1917. The founding Lion was Melvin Jones and from its inception it has maintained a strong sense of its mission of service. The club went from 0 to many, many chapters in a short time, having also a populist and very progressive view that has attracted many members through the years.

LIONS stand for the the virtues that its members practice and made into a practical slogan. These virtues are Liberty, Intelligence and Our Nations Safety. It is part of the democratic process that the group has propagated with great success in many countries, with the help of many members in those same countries.

Women and men who have good reputations in their communities and or in their majority are the ones invited to join the club. Membership concerns are guided by a set of rules that screens for the best people who can promote the mission and vision of service programs. To reiterate, visiting local chapter HQs is the best thing to do to be updated.

Banners and flags are often used to symbolize the virtues that are actively practiced by the group. Gold is the color for good things like purity, liberality, generosity and sincerity, and purple represents loyalty and integrity. These are all colors that are can be found on uniforms and official memos and announcements for programs, active missions and events for the group.

Some major objectives for Lions Clubs International is to help people with problems in eyesight and hearing. Other goals are incorporated for specific missions that the group decides to be involved in, usually those relevant to current and fundamental group concerns. Government or local authorities and other service oriented groups often team up with Lions to make program deliveries that much more effective.
