If you ask people to define groove in music, they might have a hard time coming up with the words that they think will fit. That is because often times a groove is about the feeling that the music creates. While it may not be easy to define what the groove of a hip hop beat is, it is made up of some very specific things. Beginners will have time finding the right groove for their beats. Professionals know how important the groove is and know what it takes to create it.

The groove is what provides both the rhythm and the harmony for the beats. It is the thing that ties the music together into a single beat. The groove is as recognizable as any other part in the beats. People's body responds to the groove in the hip hop beats, but you can find a groove in any type of music. The way that music generates it grooves varies depending on the genre. No matter what though, all songs need to have some type of groove if they want to be something people will listen to.

The different elements of a hip hop beat are created using different instruments. For example, rhythm is created by the drums, melody from the pads and, lead filling in the rest. The groove functions as the binding force bringing these elements together into a cohesive unit.

A wave best describes groove. Ocean waves will set everything on its path into motion. The stronger the wave, the more motion occurring. The opposite is also true. If the wave is small and slow, the less motion experienced. Groove within music will also have the same effect on the body. A fast groove has high energy and, will get people dancing vigorously and with a lot of energy. A mellow groove on the other hand will have people dancing slower and in a more relaxed manner.

A groove can be used in various parts of your beats. You can set it out in the beginning to help lead into the intro or you can use it to worked into the chorus and it can extend the verse. A groove can be used in different tempos to help fill your music out completely.

Most beginners fail to understand the importance of incorporating grove within their tracks. Leaving it out can result in listeners completely avoiding their tracks. Taking time to learn about groove and incorporating it within tracks is the best way to ensure that listeners find music pleasant to dance to.
